Unionised staff at Raven Software have filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board after claims both Activision and Microsoft are stalling over contract negotiations.
Workers from the studio, which is known for its contribution to the Call of Duty series, filed the complaint last Friday. As reported by Game File, the complaint alleged “Refusal to Bargain/Bad Faith Bargaining” in relation to ongoing efforts to reach a collective bargaining agreement.
“After Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, our members were optimistic that they would progress quickly to a first contract at Raven Software,” Communication Workers of America president Claude Cummings Jr. told Game File following the filing. “Unfortunately, that has not happened.”

Read moreIt was looking a bit touch-and-go for real-time stealth-tactics fans after developer Mimimi Games shut up shop following last year’s superb Shadow Gambit. But thankfully it seems there’s more than a little life left in the genre, what with the imminent arrival of the promising Sumerian Six and now this: a new Goya-inspired stealth-tactics adventure from The Game Kitchen, the studio behind the wonderfully moody Blasphemous series.
The Stone of Madness, as it’s known, transports players back in time to an 18th-century Spanish Monastery – serving as both a prison and an asylum – located somewhere in the Pyrenees mountains. Here, five prisoners plan their escape through its gloomy corridors, which, of course, is where all the real-time stealthy stuff starts to come…

Earlier this year, Nintendo set its sights on Modded Hardware, a group which does exactly as its name suggests. As Tom wrote in July, Nintendo had requested Modded Hardware stop selling modded hardware, however the group – reportedly headed up by Ryan “Hombrew Homie” Daly – didn’t comply, despite initially suggesting it would.
This ultimately led to Nintendo filing a lawsuit against Daly.

Read moreLarian is in another of its celebratory moods, applauding the barnstorming – and apparently record-smashing – success of Baldur’s Gate 3 mods on consoles just a week after their arrival.
While Baldur’s Gate 3 has had official mod support on PC since August – giving players access to a new Mod Manager and a range of official modding tools – it’s only been available to console and Mac players since the beginning of October.
And it looks like players have been going wild following their arrival on new platforms, with an infographic shared on Larian’s social media channels revealing over 1.7m mods were downloaded in the first 24 hours of release on consoles. That is, admittedly, just a fraction of the 22m mods that have been downloaded since Baldur’s Gate 3’s Pat…
Read moreFortnite brought the storyline of its current Marvel season to a head tonight in a climactic battle with Doctor Doom that attracted a concurrent peak of 5.6 million players.
Over the course of an hour, players worked together to tackle an enormous, rampaging version of the classic Marvel villain, until finally his armour cracked, his health bar was depleted, and he was sucked back into whatever corner of the Marvel multiverse he’d sprung from.
Fortnite’s own stats show an overall total of 5.6 million players in-game just after 7pm UK time tonight, when this evening’s live event began. This is the game’s highest concurrent total since last December, when 11.6 million players turned up for the Big Bang live event, which featured a performance by Eminem and tea…
Read more Assassin’s Creed and Star Wars Outlaws studio Ubisoft has acknowledged last week’s buyout reports, stating it “regularly reviews all its strategic options in the interest of its stakeholders”.
On Friday, it was claimed Ubisoft and Chinese tech company Tencent were considering a buyout, to help stabilise and “bolster” the French firm, following a decline in its market value.
One of the possibilities reportedly being discussed to do this would involve teaming up to take Ubisoft private. These talks were said to be in the early stages, and nothing was certain.
