BioWare has detailed the various accessibility features set to be found within Dragon Age: The Veilguard at launch, including five preset difficulty options.
Difficulty levels include the narrative-focused Storyteller, mid-difficulty Keeper and Adventurer options, the tougher Underdog choice, and the top-level Nightmare – which cannot be changed from after a playthrough is begun.
BioWare says that the Keeper option favours party and equipment choices over reaction times in combat, while Adventurer features equal emphasis on these. Alternatively, you can customise all settings via the Unbound option, which offers you free choice over a myriad of features.

Read moreLarian is in another of its celebratory moods, applauding the barnstorming – and apparently record-smashing – success of Baldur’s Gate 3 mods on consoles just a week after their arrival.
While Baldur’s Gate 3 has had official mod support on PC since August – giving players access to a new Mod Manager and a range of official modding tools – it’s only been available to console and Mac players since the beginning of October.
And it looks like players have been going wild following their arrival on new platforms, with an infographic shared on Larian’s social media channels revealing over 1.7m mods were downloaded in the first 24 hours of release on consoles. That is, admittedly, just a fraction of the 22m mods that have been downloaded since Baldur’s Gate 3’s Pat…
Read moreFortnite brought the storyline of its current Marvel season to a head tonight in a climactic battle with Doctor Doom that attracted a concurrent peak of 5.6 million players.
Over the course of an hour, players worked together to tackle an enormous, rampaging version of the classic Marvel villain, until finally his armour cracked, his health bar was depleted, and he was sucked back into whatever corner of the Marvel multiverse he’d sprung from.
Fortnite’s own stats show an overall total of 5.6 million players in-game just after 7pm UK time tonight, when this evening’s live event began. This is the game’s highest concurrent total since last December, when 11.6 million players turned up for the Big Bang live event, which featured a performance by Eminem and tea…
Read more Assassin’s Creed and Star Wars Outlaws studio Ubisoft has acknowledged last week’s buyout reports, stating it “regularly reviews all its strategic options in the interest of its stakeholders”.

One of the possibilities reportedly being discussed to do this would involve teaming up to take Ubisoft private. These talks were said to be in the early stages, and nothing was certain.

Read moreUbisoft has announced a dramatic delay to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will now launch on 14th February 2025 instead of its previously planned arrival this November. Existing pre-orders will be refunded.
The publisher has always targeted the year’s key holiday sales period for its Assassin’s Creed blockbusters, making this move highly unusual. In a statement, Ubisoft said the game’s content was complete – as you’d hope, seven weeks ahead of its intended launch date – but would now receive further polish.
Crucially, Ubisoft said the delay could be blamed on “softer than expected launch for Star Wars Outlaws”, its previous big budget blockbuster for which it had high hopes, but then launched in August to lukewarm sales. The publisher was acting now, it said…
